Hamster Kombat announces 60 billion token airdrop to only 43 Percent of qualified users

The developers of the popular Telegram clicker game Hamster Kombat have announced the details of their first-season airdrop, stating that only 43% of eligible users will receive 60 billion tokens.

Hamster Kombat team wrote on X that 75 billion of the project's 100 billion Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) tokens have been distributed to community members.

The team said following season one, 60% of the total token supply will be airdropped, with the remaining 15% being distributed during the next season of the clicker game.

On July 30, Hamster announced that their upcoming airdrop would be the "largest airdrop in the history of crypto." The firm said the majority of the volume would go to players, with the remaining going toward grants, ecosystem partnerships, liquidity, rewarding squads, and other purposes."

Hamster stated on August 12 that it had declined offers from venture capital firms. The team said "there is no extra sell pressure" and that supply, demand, and community interest will determine HMSTR token value.

Out of 300 million users, only 131 million will receive tokens

The developers of Hamster Kombat revealed that only 43 percent of players are eligible for the 60 billion token airdrop for the first season. Thirty-one million of the 300 million users will get tokens right away.

Eligible users will receive 88.75% of their allotment of the first 60 billion tokens instantly, with the remaining 11.25% vesting and becoming available ten months after the token is listed on exchanges. This indicates that 6.75 billion tokens will be released ten months after listing, and approximately 53.25 billion tokens will be airdropped to users instantly.

Why only 43% of players qualified?

Out of all the games in the Web3 category, Hamster Kombat is the one growing the fastest. The clicker game on Telegram attracted 239 million players in its first 81 days of play, demonstrating its immense popularity. According to Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, if the game is successful in bringing millions of users to cryptocurrency, Web3 may potentially be adopted. This is a result of the fact that many users are unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies.

Hamster team blacklists 2.3 million users

The Hamster Kombat team has revealed that only 131 million people are qualified to receive the game's airdrop on September 26, even though the game boasts of having over 300 million players. This suggests that only 43% of all users in the game will obtain the tokens. The firm allegedly declared that 2.3 million members had been placed on a blacklist for cheating.

Hamster Kombat faces massive backlash from community

Players who are frustrated have labeled the Hamster Kombat Coin Airdrop as the "worst in Crypto History." The outcry is focused on the abrupt and unannounced disqualification of roughly 63% of participants in the Season 1 airdrop, which is purportedly because they gathered in-game keys.

It was previously believed by many players that these keys were not necessary to be eligible for airdrops. But as the airdrop got closer, it became evident that gathering keys was important to earning rewards, which led to many players being eliminated.

The players were not previously informed of this token release schedule. Many are now venting their frustration on social media platforms because they were expecting to claim their entire allocation right away. The adjustments to the airdrop allocation criteria had already caused some users to become dissatisfied, and the lock-in period only made matters worse.

This airdrop comes after the news of another important token distribution in the Telegram gaming sector. The Catizen game's community reacted negatively last week to sudden modifications to its airdrop requirements.

Similar difficulties appear to be plaguing the Hamster Kombat team, as some players have expressed dissatisfaction with the weights assigned to different factors when allocating airdrops, specifically the emphasis placed on earning keys and referring friends.

The community was very active on the team's app and social media, but in exchange, the community's confidence and expectations were betrayed. It will be interesting to see how many players support them for season 2 and whether Hamster Kombat offers any clarification. All eyes will be on Hamster Kombat as the airdrop date draws near to see how the token distribution plays out.
