Uniswap Unichain announces mainnet launch for early 2025
Unichain, developed by Uniswap, Ethereum’s leading spot decentralized exchange by volume, is anticipated to launch its public mainnet in early 2025, according to a statement by its developers. Uniswap Labs will be a key contributor to the OP Stack, and Unichain will join Optimism's Superchain ecosystem once the mainnet launches.

Unichain Sepolia to undergo scheduled maintenance
Since October, the project has been operating on Ethereum's Sepolia testnet, which has deployed over 4 million test contracts and handled over 50 million test transactions. Uniswap has reported that the Sepolia testnet has maintained an uptime of over 99% across all critical services.

Unichain Sepolia will begin scheduled maintenance on January 6, 2025, in order to activate the permissionless fault proofs. Permissionless fault proofs will be incorporated by the developers as soon as Unichain's mainnet launches.
This function enhances network security by enabling any user to confirm a blockchain's stated state and challenge erroneous withdrawals. As a mechanism for Ethereum Layer 2 networks, fault proofs allow users to challenge transactions that might be incorrect or fraudulent.
Mainnet will open to the public after maintenance and safety validations
Individuals globally will be able to access the mainnet after the safety checks and maintenance are completed. Users will be able to start using Unichain-based apps and bridge funds to the network during this phase, the post added.
Unichain introduces new features
New features, such as the eagerly awaited Flashblocks, which promise to significantly cut block times to 250 milliseconds and make transactions almost instantaneous, are planned after the mainnet launch.
Unichain validation network
By launching the Unichain Validation Network, a decentralized network of node operators that independently verify the most recent blockchain state, Unichain hopes to reduce the risks connected with single-sequencer architectures. Additionally, the network will include Rollup-Boost, a verifiable rollup block-building platform created by Flashbots that will be used to securely build blocks on Unichain.
