OKX expands Blinks to Ethereum Virtual Machine Compatible Chains

The Web3 technology company and centralized cryptocurrency exchange OKX has announced that it is expanding the functionality of its OKX Wallet to include support for blockchain links, or Blinks.

Blockchain links, or "Blinks," are a Solana-developed technology that OKX's wallet is introducing to all Ethereum-compatible chains.

According to the press release, it was stated that the expansion will work with any chain that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It will enable blinks across multiple blockchains, making OKX the first to extend Blinks outside of Solana.

OKX Wallet users will be able to conduct onchain transactions across blockchains with the new integration with Blinks, all without ever having to leave their preferred social media platforms. The press release states that by sharing or clicking on Blinks, which are unique URLs linked to OKX Wallet product pages, users can carry out transactions like token swaps or staking without switching tabs or apps, the post added.

OKX's chief innovation officer, Jason Lau, said that the company is working with partners across both the Solana and EVM ecosystems to make sure that apps are supported and that users can take advantage of an ever-expanding range of seamless actions.

The Solana Foundation and the Solana development company Dialect collaborated to create shareable URLs that can carry out on-chain transactions, a relatively new innovation known as blinks. For instance, users of social platform X can purchase an NFT directly from the contract without ever leaving the website.

In an earlier report, OKX wallet announced its partnership with Nubit to improve safe and trustless Bitcoin inscription trading by integrating Nubit's modular indexer and data availability layer into OKX's Bitcoin inscription indexer. It was stated that users may self-verify the accuracy of meta-protocol checkpoints (such as BRC-20 and BRC-420) with Nubit's Modular Indexer at a cost of minimal communication.

In order to maintain regulatory compliance in the European Union, OKX announced on July 18 that Malta would serve as its Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) hub. Established in 2017, OKX stands as one of the biggest and busiest cryptocurrency exchanges globally.
