OKX Wallet marks 100th Mainnet Integration as it adds support for TON Blockchain

OKX announced today that it has added support for TON to its Wallet service, increasing the total number of chains that it can work with to 100.

With the most recent update, OKX Wallet is now the most secure self-custody wallet that supports tokens from 100 mainnet chains, according to the press release. OKX Web3 community can now find, swap, manage, and transfer digital assets across any of the supported chains by OKX Wallet, including TON, with more chains to be added soon.

OKX Wallet added support for the NEAR, Blast, and zkLink Nova chains before adding support for TON, the post added. Haider Rafique, chief marketing officer of OKX, said the majority of users of cryptocurrency wallets worldwide must put in a lot of work to gain access to new networks and early incentives. Our native integration with well-known and emerging chains makes it easier to explore the expanding cryptocurrency ecosystems. We want to make it easy and simple for our users, Rafique added.

The "onchain, any chain" philosophy of OKX Wallet is demonstrated by this milestone. Additionally, over 400 decentralized exchanges (DEXs) are aggregated by OKX Wallet, which also supports over 10,000 dApps and 500,000 tokens. OKX Wallet will award 100,000 NFTs exclusively to its Web3 community to commemorate reaching the 100-chain milestone. From the OKX Drops page, users can mint the commemorative NFT, called "Centenary Milestone POAP," for free, the post added.

Recently, OKX Wallet also unveiled a launchpad for Web3 game developers and integrated the trading APIs from Uniswap Labs into its offerings.

Telegram, the well-known messaging app, founded the blockchain network known as Toncoin back in 2018. To develop its new blockchain and take on Ethereum, Telegram at the time sought $1.7 billion in private investment. However, Telegram abandoned the project before it was launched because of a lawsuit from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) claiming that Ton was a security.

The popular messaging app withdrew from the project, and developers who were not affiliated with the platform carried on with it. In 2021, the Toncoin blockchain and the $TON token were launched. Several projects have since joined the Ton blockchain bandwagon, including the top two Ton meme coins for 2024, $TEPE and $FISH.

Despite Toncoin's independence from Telegram, the project was mentioned on Telegram in 2021 by Pavel Durov, the CEO and founder of Telegram. While insisting that Telegram has no more technological or financial ties to $TON, he endorsed Toncoin.
