Nigerian Crypto Trader returns Solana worth $14,000

A Nigerian cryptocurrency trader named Anjola Femi showed incredible integrity and has received a lot of attention and recognition when he returned 90 Solana (SOL), which is approximately around $14,000, to a foreign cryptocurrency trader sent to him by mistake.

The cryptocurrency giveaway sponsor and largest crypto educational creator, Rafael Alvi, also known on social media as @raffayalvi. , shared the story on X (formerly known as Twitter). Femi, with the handle @Muchino67, took part in a cryptocurrency giveaway run by Alvi and received 100 SOL, which is worth $14,000 instead of $100 as stated in the giveaway post. Alvi got in touch with Femi, the Nigerian trader, and requested that he return 90 SOL ($12k) and keep 10 SOL as a gift. He was shocked to learn that the Nigerian trader had granted his request and returned the 90 SOL.

According to the tweet posted, it was stated that Femi chose to refund the significant amount after realizing it was an error, and his deed of honesty was not lost on Alvi, who openly commended him on social media for it. Since then, the incident has garnered a lot of attention, and many users have praised Femi for his admirable deeds. Femi gave an explanation of his decision to return the money when questioned, stating that he is a man of integrity and honesty.

He stated that he thinks doing the right thing is important no matter what the situation, and that keeping the money would have been wrong. Users on X have come out to express their appreciation to Femi, as they believe Nigerians' faith in the cryptocurrency community has been restored as a result of the amazing act of kindness that went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian trader has started receiving donations in cryptocurrency for his good deed. According to a screenshot shared online, Femi has received over 5,000 dollars in crypto in his Binance wallet.

Nigeria is a nation that has a concerning reputation for political corruption and internet fraud. However, Femi's benevolent act says otherwise. It has also put the West African country on the map of integrity and transparency as the world tweets and praises Nigerians.

It was previously reported about how a Nigerian returned bitcoins worth $80,000 in cryptocurrency in 2019. Keith Mali Chung woke up to find 7.8 bitcoins (approximately $80,000) in his wallet, and according to the report, he started tracking down the owner to make a refund.

According to local media, Mali Chung, speaking over the phone from Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, said he trades in bitcoin, but never such a high amount. It was then that he knew it had to be an error, so he posted an announcement via some WhatsApp groups to help him locate the owner. After three days with no positive feedback, he took to X, which prompted a response from a user who had the correct encryption code for the BTC transaction. The user who owned the BTC was a Nigerian politician who asked to remain anonymous.
