Hamster Kombat loses almost 260 million users in 3 months

Hamster Kombat seems to be rapidly losing its traction and appeal in the crypto community. The popular tap-to-earn game on Telegram has seen a sharp drop in user numbers and engagement as a result of new competition, bans, and political backlash.

When Hamster Kombat first came out, it had great ambitions to close the gap between blockchain technology and traditional gaming. It grew quickly because of its distinct gaming style and integration with Telegram, which already had millions of users. It's surprising to see the decline in the number of users and price of its native token. It seems the initial enthusiasm surrounding the project has turned out to be fading away.

Hamster Kombat loses 86% of users

Just three months ago, the game had more than 300 million users, making it probably one of the largest in the world. However, a lot has changed since then. As of Nov. 5, there are only 41 million monthly active players of Hamster Kombat, an 86% drop from the game's 300 million users in August.

Data from IntoTheBlock (ITB) indicates that the number of active Hamster Kombat addresses peaked on September 27 at approximately 772,330. Since then, token interest and user activity have declined, dropping by over 36% in the last week.

Some analysts state the reason for the decline in users is because of the recently released Telegram Mini App, Paws. Over 11 million people signed up for the Paws Mini App in the first two days alone.

Hamster Kombat faces criticism

Many factors seem to have contributed to Hamster's rapidly declining user base and popularity. The project has faced so much criticism by players of the game who feel betrayed. The first was that the token economy in the game, which was supposed to give players a lot of rewards, fell short of expectations. After devoting so much time and energy to this, players felt deceived and exploited.

Additionally, it was reported that some users were banned or disqualified because of Hamster Kombat's strict anti-cheat policies; approximately 2.3 million accounts were suspended, and an astounding 6.8 billion HMTSR tokens—Hamster Kombat's in-game token—were confiscated.

Hamster Kombat has been criticized by Iranian government officials and has been the subject of unfounded rumors of bans in Uzbekistan. Iran viewed it as a diversion from voting procedures, while a Russian lawmaker believed the game might be a scam and called for its ban. Hamster Kombat recently posted a disclaimer on October 12 separating itself from Gotbit, which had recently been accused of providing "market manipulation as a service" by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Hamster Token (HMSTR) price declines

The decline in price of Hamster Kombat's HMSTR token is strongly associated with the reduction of daily active users and decreased network engagement.

According to CoinGecko data, the price of the HMSTR token has dropped by almost 70% from its peak of $0.01 on September 26 to roughly $0.002511 as of November 5, as of the time of writing. However, from the data disclosed by ITB, it shows that the number of addresses holding HMSTR has been steadily rising, reaching a 30-day high of 3.5 million holders on November 4.

PAWS becomes one of the fastest-growing Telegram mini Apps

PAWS has surpassed Hamster Kombat's growth trajectory in terms of popularity, reaching 20.5 million users in its first eight days.

The PAWS mini-app is a small, multipurpose tool integrated within Telegram that helps users keep track of their accomplishments and rewards. Regardless of whether you're a member of a gaming community, a team looking to increase productivity, or just an individual monitoring personal milestones, PAWS makes it simple to monitor your progress and experience the fulfillment of achieving goals.

PAWS Telegram App gains more popularity in the crypto world

The PAWS Telegram app uses TON blockchain technology to create an ecosystem that increases community engagement by rewarding active users with $PAWS tokens. PAWS Airdrop promotes community engagement by rewarding devoted users from previous campaigns involving Notcoin, DOGS, and Hamster Kombat.

Over a million people have followed PAWS on Twitter since its October 2024 launch, and 8.7 million people have subscribed to its PAWS Telegram channels. According to a Nov. 4 announcement on the Paws Telegram channel, the project's X account had one million followers and 10 million wallets connected to the app.

This quick expansion has drawn interest from the cryptocurrency community, particularly in light of the popularity of other tokens with animal themes, such as $DOGS, and the project's striking resemblance to Rats Kingdom, which drew 4 million users in its first 21 days. It is believed that the PAWS listing date might be drawing near as community enthusiasm increases.
