Gemini signs 5 Year Bitcoin Sponsorship Deal with Real Bedford Football Club

Cryptocurrency exchange platform Gemini has announced the completion of a five-year sponsorship deal with Real Bedford Football Club.

According to the statement on Monday, the sponsorship deal fund will be paid in full with Bitcoin up front. The deal demonstrates Gemini's dedication to helping the team fulfill its dream of playing in the Premier League, support the continued success of the club, and increase opportunities for local children.

The five-year sponsorship agreement with Gemini, which is among the longest multi-year shirt sponsor agreements outside of the professional game in the UK, will be paid into the club's Bitcoin treasury directly. By providing protection against inflation, this fund helps the group achieve higher goals. The club’s fund needs to protect its savings and investments because of plans to build a new training facility and start youth football classes for disadvantaged children in the Bedford area, the statement added.

Marshall Beard, COO of Gemini, stated, "Our strategic five-year deal reaffirms our continued conviction that Real Bedford—powered by Bitcoin and Peter's leadership—has the ability to defy the odds, upset the establishment, and remove incumbents." Real Bedford will benefit both on and off the field as a result of our investment, which will strengthen their balance sheet with digital assets. We eagerly anticipate seeing what the club accomplishes in the upcoming years.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Gemini for extending their sponsorship agreement with Real Bedford for an additional five years," said Peter McCormack, the club's owner. This transaction strengthens our economic foundations by taking Bitcoin as payment, he added. Hardworking people are being burdened financially by the government's reckless economic policies of today, which are characterized by massive borrowing, high inflation, and skyrocketing interest rates.

We achieved a +62% return by incorporating Bitcoin into our treasury, which helps strengthen the club's financial position and shields our cost base from the recent spike in inflation. The club said it is happy to share its Bitcoin strategy with any other club or business, the statement added.

Real Bedford, a non-league football team also referred to as the "Bitcoin football team," has completely integrated Bitcoin into its system, enabling fans to pay for tickets and merchandise with the virtual currency and players to accept payments in the cryptocurrency.

This news comes after the announcement of the $4.5 million sponsorship that Winklevoss Capital, the investment company owned by Gemini founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, invested in the club this April.
