America Bitcoin Miner CleanSpark announced today that it has acquired additional two more Bitcoin mining facilities near Clinton, Mississippi, which will support a total of 16.5 MW for $5.775 million in cash.

Less than seven days have passed since the company announced that it has paid $27.5 million in cash, or about $324,000 per megawatt, to acquire seven Bitcoin mining facilities in the Knoxville, Tennessee, area along with some associated land. The company also added that it had closed on its second site in Wyoming, according to a statement.

The purchase price covers the cost of completing the Mississippi site infrastructure construction, even though the sites are currently only partially completed. The post added that both sites will be delivered turnkey ready to CleanSpark, and by December 1, 2024, the site is expected to be completed.

After everything is completed and installed, the site will be home to S21 pro miners, whose combined operating hashrate should be around 1 exahashes per second (EH/s). The addition of these sites will take CleanSpark’s data center portfolio in Mississippi to a total of 60.5 MW.

The company closed on its previously disclosed 45 MW site in Wyoming on September 11, 2024. After completion, the site is expected to add 3 EH/s to the company's hashrate. The site will have Bitcoin mining data centers that are immersion-cooled and capable of supporting the latest S21 immersion XPs.

CleanSpark CEO Zach Bradford explained in the post that the rapid expansion of CleanSpark demonstrates the company's continued dedication to delivering long-term shareholder value.

He further said that with the announcement made today, our operational capacity has increased dramatically over the past seven days, adding 211.5 MW of new capacity. With that gain of almost 38%, we will be able to meet both our 2024 target of 37 EH/s and our 2025 goal of 50 EH/s.

CleanSpark published its August production updates on September 6, which showed a mixed performance for the industry. According to the company, it increased its overall operating hash rate by 1.4 EH/s in August by mining 478 BTC. As of August 31, the company had 7,558 Bitcoin in total.
