Avail DA launches on Mainnet as AVAIL Token goes Live
Avail, the unification layer for Web3, has launched its data availability mainnet and the AVAIL token that powers the network.
Avail DA Mainnet & the AVAIL token are now live!

With KZG Commitments and Data Availability Sampling safeguarding it, Avail DA is now available on the mainnet, enabling abundant amounts of blobspace and unleashing infinitely scalable blockchains. Now that the groundwork has been completed, a permissionless unified layer for Web3 can be built, as stated in the blog post. We think that when the blockchain community comes together, we can't be stopped. In order to improve blockchain scalability and lay the groundwork for seamless usability throughout any blockchain ecosystem, we are launching Avail DA on the mainnet.
By combining validity proofs and data availability sampling, Avail DA presents the first modular data availability layer that offers secure DA guarantees and facilitates the scalable operation of entire blockchain networks. Avail has secured over 70 partnerships in the last few months by collaborating closely with the expanding community to realize this vision: bring blockchains to everyone. Developers working on Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Starkware, and ZKsync can now access Avail DA, as it encompasses the five biggest L2 ecosystems, the post added.
The Goldberg Testnet received contributions from more than 87,000 accounts, handling over 118 million transactions. Avail DA enabled enough data submissions during the testing phase alone to meet nearly all L2s' demands in 2023 (140 GB).
The launch of the AVAIL token came next. The native asset of the Avail network is the AVAIL token. It secures Avail through staking and is used to cover Avail DA fees. Holders of AVAIL tokens can now stake their tokens, adding security to blockchains that support more use cases.
To create blockchains on Avail DA, developers can use any one of Ethereum's top rollup stacks. Because it is not dependent on any particular chain, Avail DA can support inscriptions, execution environments, and sovereign rollup constructs. With the integration of Avail DA, more than 20 web3 developer tooling providers offer the ability to quickly and easily spin up blockchains.
Avail DA represents the first phase of Avail's plan to create a permissionless web3 unification layer that abstracts cross-chain bridging away from end users and allows liquidity to be accessed from any chain. The company said in the post that everyone's usage of Web3 will be greatly streamlined as a result.
